one day i'll probably buy an old hasselblad...

DAMN!! i love medium format... *sigh* oh what an addiction i have thrust upon myself...
oh what a stupendous amount of money i will be spending to get my earthcore slides developed.... provia 100 is an absolute gem on skin tones!

i bought a new scanner today (among other things) which does medium format... hence i am completely and utterly in love with medium format... wait until mum and dad see the pics ive taken!!
and yes, one day i WILL buy a hasselblad!

very lame...

very very fucken lame...
my sister had organised a party for my finishing exams, and carlys graduating tonight...
the boys organised their housewarming party last night...

needless to say when i turned up to their party last night everyone was off their tree, drunk as skunks and peaking off their nuts.
so...
today comes along and one by one they all text us to let us know they cant make it to our party because they are too fragile from the night before...

im pretty upset, and very dissapointed...
because its every day that carly graduates uni, and every day i finish exams...

friends like these are worth less than enemies - enemies would at least show up in the hopes they could ruin your night.
i dont even know why i bother.

exams are over... for now.

ahhhhh... finishing exams feels so sweet when you have actually been trying hard to do well.
i feel a deep sense of contentment and happiness. i think im ready to tackle 4 subjects and 3 nights work per week next year...

in finally gave in on thursday and put a bid on a mamiya c330... the bidding ended just as my exam started, so i was pleasantly surprised, 2 and a half hours later, to find that my first bid was the highest bid :) i picked it up yesterday and have been playing around with it all day...

if you think my nikkormat is old, think again... this is FULLY manual, it hasnt even got a light meter... ive had to think sunny 16's all day! im very much looking forward to the learning/study this manual camera is going to force to me to do!!

such an amazing viewpoint, having a waist-level finder which you look down at, focus and compose all from above!
square format seems to be a very natural and un-restricted format to compose photographs and portraits, its such a refreshing change from 35mm!

at first i was worried as many people told me that this camera was heavy... well, carrying it round today, both in hand and on a strap around my neck, i have come to the conclusion that it really is not that much heavier than my nikkormat and 105mm lens, and is MUCH easier to hold and work with!

ive run a roll of agfa apx 400 through it today to check for mechanical problems and to see if there are any light-leaks or exposure problems.
handy that i have run a roll of proper black and white film through it, as wednesday was the day i picked up my 35mm darkroom colour/b&w enlarger... with 'bonus accessories'.

i had no idea what the bonus accessories were and wasnt too fussed about them really, because $51 was a pretty good deal on a colour/b&w enlarger.
when i found out what the 'bonus accessories' were, i was absolutely chuffed!
film developing tank, safelight, tongs, film squeegee, print developing trays, hanging clips, print masking easel, the jobo colourbase print developing system with extension tanks (!!!!) and colour correction charts...
this ridiculously expensive amount of darkroom equipment in excellent condition for $51!!! all i need is a timer, thermometer, a few measuring cylinders and a changing bag to have everything i need to get my darkroom set up under the house at my parents place.

dad is going to be so happy, and i expect hes going to spend alot of time borrowing my cameras and hanging out in the darkroom.

and now i have something to pass my uni holidays with, unlike last year when i was bored shitless for 4 months!
