new bicycle
ok, so i thought the day would never come... i swore that it wasnt my style and i couldnt imagine ever enjoying one...
on thursday i went out and did what many people had heard me say i wouldnt do.
i bought a road bike.
yes, one of those streamlined ones with curvy handlebars and skinny tires, where lyrca and tight fitting clothing is the only option.
no!!! i hear you exclaim... why did you do it? are you forever to forego the whims and wonders of the wild wide open rooty hillsides and terrorising passing joggers as you fang down the sometimes grassy but mostly gravelly side of the bikepath out to the gap?
have no fear... the mountain bike is not out of fashion with me, nor will it ever be. infact after i get my imac, a super squidgy smooth riding super suspension XC MTB will be for me!
its just riding the fucker out to walkabout creek and back home on the road is an absolute BITCH.
the road bike is *VERY* nice to ride... still pretty wobbly on the uphill, but geeeeeeeeeeeez it can go fast!! infact, now that i have something thats not so heavy, that ride to redcliffe is sounding like a plan! and mt cootha is first on the list for a spare weekend. quite looking forward to getting fit and healthy and sexy buns again...
and i wore lycra every day from day one... so nothings changed there :P
